From your cart into the hands of a child
Each year, CCM Cares partners with FOX 8 News Cleveland’s annual Stuff the Bus initiative — a daylong event welcoming donations from community members to benefit a Cleveland-based nonprofit, Shoes and Clothes for Kids.
CCM teams from across the nation rallied to support children entering a new school year, donating over 8,000 school supply items — our largest donation yet! Because of your generosity, we’re helping hundreds of children and their families start the school year with confidence.
CCM Cares’ donations added to the organization’s grand total of over 80,000 supplies valuing over $175,000, ultimately filling over ten school buses with donations.
CCM Cares volunteers were onsite, helping to fill school buses with items, which were then transported to Shoes and Clothes for Kids to be stocked on shelves and prepared for families and teachers to come shop.
Our support didn’t stop there. A week later, children celebrated at Shoes and Clothes for Kids’ Back to School Bash. CCM volunteers saw the joy and excitement firsthand as children enjoyed the event, looking forward to school’s start rather than worrying about if they’ll have everything they need. During the event, children danced to a live DJ, enjoyed free haircuts, health screenings, fresh food, treats and pop-ups from local vendors.
The adventures continue at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo
In addition to the annual CCM Cares School Supply Drive, CCM was proud to partner with the Shanlian Team and OHuddle, a youth mentorship program for school-aged children. CCM sponsored a free day for 250 OHuddle members at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, providing free lunch, bonus experiences and a private pavilion with face painting, dancing and giveaways. For many in the program, this marked their first time experiencing a zoo.
Youth is a pillar of the CCM Cares mission, and we are committed to providing meaningful and impactful experiences to the children of every community.
